Hello and welcome
to the 2011 season from MCB Fly Fishing.
This year will be
a totally different approach to that of last year as the venture into Weir
Wood Angling has come to its end for a variety of reasons. I
wish them every success and will continue to support Michael and the
fishery.
My Business will
now focus on GOOD QUALITY and PROFESSIONAL casting instruction, guiding and
top levels of service for all ages and abilities. This will include
beginner's days for groups, corporate entertaining for businesses, as well
as frequent appearances at game fairs and shows around the area.
I have managed to
keep my fees at the same level as last year, despite the current troubled
economic climate. I believe they remain very reasonable and
competitive. but the rising fuel costs may necessitate some adjustment.
Please contact me for an up to date quotation on your requirements.
This year will be
a challenging for fishing, following a harsh winter and a very dry spring.
As always we either have too little water or too much. Fish farms and
fisheries can be especially hit in drought situations, with reduced oxygen
levels and reduced water flows to feed both still waters and rivers. All of
us need to mindful in such circumstances, to use water water responsibly for
the overall benefit of our environment.
I do hope to see
as many people as possible this year, taking up this this
exiting sport, or indeed finessing their technique or ironing-out bad
habits.
Here's hoping for
a good season with lots of enjoyable fishing.
Tight Lines,
Mark Carr-Brown
Having started my fishing career in coarse fishing (as did many of my
colleagues) at the tender age of 14, I taught myself the fundamentals of fly
fishing and from those humble beginnings I have progressed to become a fully
qualified
Level 2 Game Angling Instructor,
specialising in trout fishing. I am in the process of training to
achieve both Salmon fishing and Fly Tying qualifications.
I am a member of the
Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA),
the
Salmon & Trout Association (S&TA),
The Fly Tiers Guild and the British Association of Shooting and
Conservation (BASC); you will also be
able to find me in the Directory of Instructors at the
fly fishing tackle
people, Fishtec.
I have had extensive experience of
teaching at all levels of competence, as well as appearing at Country Shows
and Game Fairs throughout the South East and at the National Country Land
Owners Association (CLA) Game Fair. You will see from my Diary Page,
those Fairs
I will be attending this year. Why not come along and say
hello? |
